How do we use information about you

In accordance with Article 13(1)(d) in conjunction with Article 6(1)(f) of the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation) (EU L No. 119, p. 1, as amended), the processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by Us (the data controller).
‍The extent to which we use your information depends on the specific Services you use, how you interact with them, and any preferences you've communicated to us. Below are the purposes for which we utilize the information we collect from you

To maintain the functionality of the Services
We use your data to ensure that the Services operate as intended and securely.

For research and development
We continually seek to improve the intelligence, speed, security, integration, and utility of our Services. To do so, we collect information and insights (including feedback) on how users engage with our Services to identify trends, usage patterns, and areas for integration. This data helps us refine our Services and develop new products, features, and technologies that benefit both our users and the public. Additionally, we use this data to troubleshoot and enhance our Services.

To communicate with you about our Services
We use your contact details to send you emails confirming your purchases, reminding you of subscription expirations, responding to your comments, questions, and requests, providing customer support, and sending you technical notices, updates, security alerts, and administrative messages. We also send communications to help you better understand and use a specific Service during onboarding. These messages are generally considered part of the Services, and in most cases, you cannot opt out of them. If an opt-out option is available, it will be provided within the communication or in your account settings.

Customer support
We use your information to resolve technical issues, respond to your support requests, analyze crash data, and improve and repair the Services.
For statistical and analytical purposes

For some of these activities, we require information about you, such as verifying the number of users using a particular service and the amount of support needed for specific functionalities. However, we do not conduct research on individual user behavior within the Service.

With your consent
We use your information when you have provided consent for a specific purpose not listed above. For instance, we may publish testimonials or feature customer stories to promote the Services with your permission.

Other technical reasons
Due to technical considerations related to how Atlassian provides us with user information, we need your email address even after you've requested to be forgotten. This is solely to prevent the creation of a new account for you in our databases each time Atlassian transfers a new user list. This list contains more than just your email address. By retaining your email address, we limit the processing of additional data about you. We do not use this email address for any other purpose.
